Jacquelin Riley, Events

Retired Educator

Jackie’s career as a French, Spanish, and Japanese teacher, Global Initiatives Program director, and high school administrator spanned 42 years in both the public and private school sectors. During those years, she loved the energy of her students and learned much from the various perspectives of her students, colleagues, and school families. Her focus, however, was not only on world language acquisition, but also on helping students develop global understanding and competence in an increasingly complex world.

Jackie grew up in Michigan, and she and her family have lived and worked in Southeastern Michigan since the mid-70s. She became involved in SOPF in 2023, and wholeheartedly supports the foundation’s mission to reduce financial stress for patients undergoing breast cancer treatment.

She graduated from Albion College with a B.A. in French, a minor in Spanish, and a Michigan secondary teaching certificate. Jackie continued her education at the University of Michigan where she received her Master’s degree in French language and literature. She also received a certificate from the Harvard Graduate School of Education for completing their global education development program.
