Did you know that March is Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) Awareness Month?
Reprinted from the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (March 14, 2024)
TNBC is an aggressive subtype of breast cancer that accounts for 10-15% of cases. TNBC grows and spreads rapidly and comes with a higher chance of recurrence than other types of breast cancer (ACS). Racial disparities exist in TNBC incidence, with Black women being three times more likely to be diagnosed with TNBC than their white counterparts, according to TOUCH The Black Breast Cancer Alliance.
