About John Riesen:
Hailed as “impassioned...and vibrant” (Opera Today), award-winning American tenor John Riesen is consistently impressing audiences with his "fantastic, powerful voice" (Texarkana Gazette). Riesen’s growing career boasts a variety of roles in which he excels and includes significant work in opera, musical theatre, studio recording and concert. He has performed around the world at such esteemed houses as the Lincoln Center, The Detroit Opera House, The Pacific Symphony and will be making his Carnegie Hall debut as the tenor soloist in the Messiah Dec 2021. He has released two studio recording albums: What You'd Call a Dream (2019) and Christmas at Home (2020), and several singles including, "What a Wonderful World (2021)" "Broken Vow (2021)" and "Can't Help Falling in Love with You (2021)" that have reached over 1 million streams on Spotify and Apple Music. He has also collaborated with Emmy-nominated PBS TV pianist Marina Arsenijevic in both video performance (during COVID-19) and in studio recordings. John is an avid athlete, and is playing AA minor league baseball this summer and is sponsored by Nokona Leather.

He has also been privileged to sing for political figures, including President Barack Obama, President Jimmy Carter, Judge Stephanie Kulp Seymour and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

WINE TASTING AT PROP ART STUDIO

Please join us for a unique, behind the scenes look at Prop Art! Their studio is a full service Industrial art studio located in Detroit, Michigan. It’s award-winning studio has been designing, sculpturing, and rendering larger than life 3D props and other productions for more than 30 years. They are a creative force to be reckoned with and have imagined billboards, custom signage, tradeshow materials, parade floats, museum exhibit, full body costumes, street art, stage sets and permanent displays. They are located in a 100 year old electric car charging station ( yes, you heard that correctly!)

Their latest art will be on full display, and you will get this exclusive sneak peak before their unveiling on Media Day!


Along side this amazing art, we will have a exclusive wine tasting from Luciano Wines in Birmingham, Michigan. Their Italian Collection of innovative, delicious, boutique wines are not for sale at any retail store, and they will be available for purchase. The wines will be accompanied by a delicious cheese and charcuterie pairing! Tickets are $40 per person and include complimentary valet parking.

Cooking to support Shades of Pink

Please join Chef Smita Ahluwalia of Smita's Urban Kitchen on October 25, 2020, from 4:30 to 5:30 pm as she hosts a Live Zoom Cooking Class to benefit SHADES OF PINK FOUNDATION. These funds will enable them to carry out their mission of providing temporary financial assistance to women who are experiencing financial difficulty as a result of a breast cancer diagnosis. Chef Smita has prepared a special three course menu of a traditional green salad, Chicken or Paneer(vegetarian) Tikka Masala, Cumin Basmati Rice, Naan bread and Semolina Halwa. and once you register, you will be emailed the link for for the class as well as all ingredients needed and the wines that will pair well with this menu! THIS CLASS IS LIMITED TO 100 PEOPLE, SO BE THE FIRST TO SIGN UP!
